PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary Education Muhammad Atif Khan has said that Rs43 billion would be spent on provision of missing facilities in 30 thousand schools of the province under Tameer-e-School Programme.

He said that Rs10 billion had already been released in 1st phase for the purpose.

He said this in a meeting with President of The Citizen Foundation (TCF) of Canada, Abdul Aziz here on Tuesday. The meeting besides others was also attended by Secretary Elementary Education Afzal Latif, Additional Secretary, Qaiser Alam and Director Education, Rafiq Khattak.

Education Minister said that incumbent government has increased educational budget of the province up to Rs100 billion. He said that government was intending to use information technology for enhancing skills of teachers and students adding 840 labs were being established in government schools for the purpose.

On the occasion, TCF President while offering his services for promotion of quality education said that he was greatly impressed by educational reforms initiatives.
