PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Provincial Chief Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would not be allowed to introduce shirt and trouser for boys at government schools.

Provincial chief of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), the coalition partner of KPK government, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said here that JI would not allow the provincial government to take any such decision which is against the aspirations of the people.

He said JI considers the shirt and trousers for male students to introducing Westernization in the province, he said that the elementary and secondary education department should refrain from any such proposal.

He criticized PTI-led provincial government for not consulting coalition partners on the issue of uniform adding that it was not only against the democratic norms but also a violation of Section 8 of the agreement his party had struck with the ruling PTI prior to joining it as coalition partner.

Meanwhile, JUI-F senior leader Maulana Ahmedullah Jan Baba Gee said that his party completely rejects introduction of shirt and trousers at government schools.

He said PTI intends to introduce Westernization in educational system of the province that would be strongly resisted by JUI-F.

He said that around 29,000 government schools were not having basic facilities and PTI led KPK government instead of providing facilities there mulling to change uniform and educational curricular in the name of revolution and uniform educational system.
