ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Wednesday announced the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) results 2016, in which girls clinched maximum positions.

Minister of State for Federal Education Engineer Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman addressing the ceremony, said that the youth was our national asset and a bright future.

He appreciated the commendable efforts of FBISE for achieving the success by following the vision of Prime Minister’s Youth Development Program.

Majority of the FBISE students, he said, were passing the National Testing Service (NTS) test and it is only because of conceptual study behavior in the board rather than Ratta system.

Pakistan was among those few countries in the world which had not national education standards, he said and added, after coming into power the PML-N government took necessary steps in education sector and finalized National Education Standards for country.

He said the national curriculum was being modernized with the consultation of provinces.

FBISE student facilitation system has been upgraded with modern technologies, the minister said.

The minister also announced to hold a ceremony in honor of the position holders to celebrate their success.

He said the topers would be given awards by the hands of Prime Minister or President, adding, laptops and scholarships would also be given to them.

Baligh congratulated the position holders, successful students, parents, teachers, while advised the failures to work hard for a bright future.

Malik Ibrar, MNA Rawalpindi speaking on the occasion congratulated the winner students and urged them to work hard for the better future of the country.

Earlier, Chairman FBISE Dr Ikram in his welcome address congratulated the successful students and their parents.

According to the details of the results, a total of 58032 students participated in the examination, out of which 43132 students passed the exams and the ratio of successful students was 74.33%.

In pre-medical group, Atika Hashmi from Hamza Army Public School & College, Rawalpindi secured first position with 1049 marks while the second position was shared by Aysha Aslam from Fouji Foundation College for Girls New Lalazar Rawalpindi and Romeesa Maryam from Army Public School and College for Girls Westridge Rawalpindi with 1047 marks.

The third position was secured by Fiza Ayaz from Hamza Army Public Schools and College Rawalpindi with 1046 marks.

In Pre-Engineering group, the first position was secured by Muhammad Anas Ali from Army Public School and College Chonian Cant with 1034 marks.

The second position was secured by Siddiqua Shakoor from Fazaya Inter College Khana road Rawalpindi with 1032 marks while the third position was secured by Soha Ayaz from Army public school and college for girls Humayun road Rawalpindi with 1030 marks.

In General Science Group, Hifsa Kamal from Fazaya Inter college Kamra Cant secured first position with 1001 marks.

The second position was secured by Muhammad Ghayas Baig from Fazaya degree college Faisal Karachi with 987 marks.

The third position was secured by Jaweria Moosa Fouji Foundation college for girls New Lalazar Rawalpindi with 981 marks.

In Commerce Group, Warda Khurshid Awan from Punjab College for Information Technology Abpara Islamabad secured first position with 956 marks, while second position was secured by Wajiha Mohsan from Punjab College for Information Technology Abpara Islamabad with 928 marks.

The third position was shared by Tasmia Azhar Punjab College for Information Technology Abpara Islamabad and Punjab and Muavia Naseer from Punjab College Wah Cant with 927 marks.

In Humanities Group, Muhammad Fahad Kabir from Institute of Islamic Sciences Satra Meel secured first position with 956 marks.

The second position was secured by Bisma Rahman from Aims Foundation with 927 marks, while third position was shared by Zahid ur Rahman Institute of Islamic Sciences Satra Meel and Billa Bibi from Post Graduate college Wah Cant with 921 marks.
