ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government was taking various steps and launched several projects with the cost of Rs 3.5 billion on promotion of quality education in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), an official source said on Wednesday.
Talking to the state-run news agency in Islamabad, the source said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government had initiated work on 93 projects in education sector in all tribal agencies.
The source said out of 93 projects, 34 had been completed and remaining projects would be completed as soon as possible because the present government had great interest for development of education sector in that region.
The official source said those projects included construction of new schools, colleges and technical institutions to enhance literacy ratio in tribal areas.
Similarly, he added, primary, middle and high schools were being upgraded in tribal belt to provide better education facilities to tribal students.
