ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The British Council has cancelled all exams in Pakistan scheduled on May 11, 2023 in view of the developing violent political and law and order situation in the Country deteriorated after the arrested of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“The decision was made after carefully evaluating the situation and to ensure the safety of our candidates, their parents, venue staff, Examiners and staff members in the event of any incident,” the British Council said in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, the British Council cancelled ALL Cambridge International, Pearson, University of London & IELTS exams scheduled across Pakistan on May 10 as well.

The situation deteriorated in the Country on Tuesday after Imran Khan was arrested by Rangers in Al-Qadir Trust Case from the Islamabad High Court (IHC), immediately sparking nationwide protests.
