ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, government would distribute 200,000 laptops among students throughout the country in 2nd and 3rd Phases.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, Chief Coordinator of PM’s Youth Loan Scheme Makhdoom Adeel Ul Rehman Hashmi said 100,000 laptops would be handed over to students by next month.

He said that out of these, 100,000 laptops would be handed over to students by next month.

He said under the second phase of the PM laptop scheme, all the MPhil and PhD students in public sector universities would be awarded laptops and the rest of the university students would be distributed according to a set merit.

Similarly, he said that under the skilled development programme twenty five thousand people would be given jobs annually.

He said that distribution of laptops aims at reducing the setting up and maintenance expenses of university libraries.

He said that digital libraries would also play important role in accessing to millions of books and journals.
