ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will provide financial assistance to the needy students of Wafaq-ul-Madaris in shape of scholarships.

The fee structure for the students of Madaris will be normal as per AIOU policy while text books and tutorial support will also be provided by the university, an official of the AIOU told APP here Friday.

He said that admissions will be offered twice a year for the seminaries.

The students will be able to enrolled themselves with AIOU for the study of compulsory subjects at graduate level, he added.

Official said that every possible support including books and tutorial workshops will be provided by the AIOU to the enrolled students.

He said that, Vice Chancellor AIOU Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui assured the seminaries’ students that they will be facilitated in the admission and examination process.

They AIOU, he added, will fully support the initiative being carried out by the government for Madaris reforms so as to bring them into mainstream.

The university will arrange the academic courses that help the students to qualify compulsory and elective subjects of Bachelor level. It will also adopt credible mechanism for conducting exams for the Madaris students.

He hoped that thousands of students of Wafaq-ul-Madaris will take benefit of these arrangements.

The AIOU will be starting its new admissions from August 1 and these students will be fully facilitated to take the admission in their relevant programs, he added.

It is pertinent to note that AIOU has announced to provide academic support to the students of Wafaq-ul-Madaris for accreditation of their B.A and M.A level degrees.
