KARACHI, Pakistan: Regional Directors of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) from Sindh at its meeting held in Karachi on Saturday evolved a plan to expand its educational network in the province with more focus on promoting its new academic programs commensurate with country’s socio-economic development.
The meeting presided over by the Vice Chancellor AIOU Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui considered ways and means to bring maximum number of people into the educational net.
Dr. Shahid Siddiqui advised the Regional Directors to provide maximum facilities to the people for getting admission in autumn 2017, semester. The admission process will continue till September 28.
The VC assured that the university will utilize its all available resources for the benefit of the people, particularly marginalized sections of the society.
The Vice Chancellor AIOU noted that there had been an upward trajectory in the students’ enrollment in recent years. This was all because of the growing trust of the people in the University’s learning system that had been further strengthened during the last three years, through the smart use of new technology.
Dr. Shahid Siddiqui appreciated the Regional Directors for their hard work in bringing the educational facilities at the peoples; door-step.
A publicity plan making the enrollment drive successful was also discussed at the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by the Director Regional Affairs Dr. Arif Saleem Arif.
Meanwhile, a function was also held during which the Vice Chancellor distributed laptops to the talented students under the Prime Minister’s Youth Scheme. He assured that the AIOU’s students will be equally benefited from the government’s educational schemes.
