ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) was providing financial assistance scholarships’ in nine different schemes to support its needy students for continuing their study.

These scholarships package includes: Earn to learn scheme, Outreach Scholarship Scheme, Final Year Project Grant Scheme, Scholarship for Communities, Scholarship for Women, Fee Installment Scheme and Alumni/Sponsored Scholarship.

An official of the AIOU here Friday told that the scholarships programme will ensure students to continue their study in future without any hurdle.

Vice Chancellor AIOU, Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui highlighting the scholarships programme said “we want to ensure that fee-payment should not be a hurdle in their educational pursuits”.

“Nobody should be left without education due to financial constraints”, he said adding that the students can apply for these scholarships while applying for admission.

The schemes include a merit-based scholarship which aims at generating competition among students and encourage brilliant students.

The scholarship is being offered both to the fresh and continuing students who score 75 percent and above marks in their latest results.

The University has broadened the scope of its existing `Students Support System’ to cover the maximum number of needy students and giving relaxation in their fee.
