ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched Associate Islamabad Degree in nine skill-based courses enabling its students to earn their livelihood and to take part in the country’s socio-economic development.

According to the spokesman of the AIOU on Thursday, these courses include: Commerce, Tourism Management, Hotel Management, Hospital Management, IT Management, Accounting and Finance, Banking and Finance, Human Resource Management and Marketing Management.

The University has recently launched a number of new programs, aimed at enhancing students’ capacity and professional skill.

Besides Matriculation to Ph.D level programs, the University introduced 64 short term skill-development courses.

Six-month duration courses include: five-technical and vocational courses, Nine- Agricultural Courses, The three-months duration professional courses include: Eight open-tech Courses, 5-Hotel Services courses, 22-Management Sciences courses, 19-Community Education courses and 13-Social Sciences courses.
