Education75th Independence Day Celebrations held at Rawalpindi Women University

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: In compliance with the government’s directive and as per the old tradition of the institution, the Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) organized an event followed by a series of activities for the 75th Independence Day Celebrations on 14th August 2021.

The Parliamentary Secretary ANF MNA Honorable Mr. Sheikh Rashid Shafique was the Chief Guest of the event. A bouquet was presented to the Chief Guest at reception.

Mr. Rashid Shafique along with the Worthy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Anila Kamal and the Executive Committee of the University led the event by hoisting the national flag in the University’s auditorium.

The national anthem was also played at that moment.

The program started with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat. The national songs were sung along with the heart-touching performance by students of different departments.

A PowerPoint presentation highlighting the sacrifices by leaders of the Pakistan Movement was displayed.

The Honorable Chief Guest and worthy Vice-Chancellor made their speeches elaborating the role of leaders, youth, women, and students in the Pakistan movement.

A cultural display promoting cultural aspects of all provinces including AJK was presented by the students.

The event ended with the prayer for the solidarity of Pakistan and the cake cutting ceremony.

It is pertinent to mention here that in addition to this main event, all the departments of the RWU organized series of different activities i.e. webinars/competitions during the whole week in pursuance of Independence Day Celebrations.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
