ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: About 200,000 Children would be enrolled in Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) Schools under a special campaign launched in the tribal region.
In this regard, the Director Education of Tribal Areas (DETA) has appealed that the parents and people from different walks of life should support the federal government in ensuring maximum enrollment of tribal children in schools.
In an official statement, the DETA said that the Parliament approved the campaign in 2012, making education compulsory and free from primary to middle classes.
In order to make the drive successful, the authorities have announced to provide scholarship and cash prizes to students and incentives to their parents.
Meanwhile while talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Radio, the Head of Bacha Khan Foundation in Peshawar Dr Khadim Hussain termed the drive as a good omen.
Dr Khadim Hussain said that the government has improved conditions at educational institutions.
The Bacha Khan Foundation Head urged the government to ensure construction of new educational institutions besides re-constructing schools either destroyed or damaged during the military operation against terrorists in the tribal areas.
