Diplomatic CircleUS asks Pakistan to full its international obligations

ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson said on Tuesday Pakistan must fulfill its international obligations, adding that his country supports the Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (TAPI) pipeline project, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Talking to media persons, US envoy said US policy on Iran is very clear. “Not only United States but the whole world has reservations over Iran nuclear programme,” he said.

Olson did not give a straightforward reply when asked whether Pak-Iran gas pipeline project will affect Pak-US relations.

US ambassador also declined to comment on the resolutions by All Parties Conferences (APCs) hosted by ANP and JUI-F calling for initiating talks with the Taliban, saying talks with Taliban was an internal matter of Pakistan.

Appreciating Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process and release of Taliban leaders, the ambassador expressed hoped that two countries would reach an understanding on the issue of Moulvi Faqeer.
