ANKARA, Türkiye: Türkiye has expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives in floods across Pakistan and announced to send humanitarian aid.

In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye said that we are deeply saddened that the severe flood disasters, which are ongoing and intensified in that last few days in Pakistan, claimed the lives of many Pakistani brothers and sisters, and caused extensive damage.

“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to the friendly and brother government and people of Pakistan, and wish speedy recovery to the injured,” the ministry said.

It said that Türkiye has started preparations to extend the necessary relief to the Pakistani brothers and sisters who have been affected by the flood disasters, and has planned to send a Turkish aircraft carrying humanitarian aid to Pakistan.

In Pakistan, the devastating floods have affected millions of people as nearly 1,000 people have lost their lives and further over 1,450 people have suffered from injuries.

Additionally, the torrential rains and floods have also caused damages to thousands of houses, schools and infrastructure, putting people’s lives in disarray.
