TOKYO, Japan: A tourism promotion event “Foreign Culture Seminar-Pakistan” was organized by the Suginami Association for Cultural Exchange (SACE) in Japan’s Suginami City on October 24.
This year, Suginami Ward was also the host town for Pakistani athletes participating in the Olympics.
In his address, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Japan Imtiaz Ahmad welcomed the Mayor of Suginami City Ryo Tanaka San esteemed guests and visitors to the event.
Ambassador Imtiaz Ahmad congratulated the Japanese government and the people of Japan for successfully hosting the Olympics during the pandemic.
The ambassador said that Pakistan and Japan are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2022. Pakistan wants to enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Suginami, he added.
The ambassador also emphasized that tourism is a way to deepen understanding and knowledge of each other’s cultures. He said that Pakistan has an enriching history and culture; it has Indus Valley civilization along with Moenjodaro and Harrapa, being of the oldest civilization, along with ancient Buddhist heritage and sites in Taxila and Swat.
Ambassador Imtiaz Ahmad said that Pakistan is host to 8 out of 20 tallest mountains in the world, K-2 being the second highest in the world.
The ambassador invited Japanese people, especially the younger generation of participants, to experience the untouched beauty of Pakistan and enjoy the warm & friendly hospitality, and delicious food from the people of Pakistan.
