MANAMA, Bahrain: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain Javed Malik has announced elaborate plans to celebrate the 70 years Independence through a series of events and activities aimed at mobilizing the over hundred thousand Pakistanis that live in the Gulf Kingdom. 

“This is milestone year for Pakistan as we complete 70 years of independence and Just like the Special celebrations inside the country, the overseas Pakistanis are also equally charged up to celebrate their country’s independence,” Javed Malik said while highlighting the activities.

As per plan, Pakistan Embassy in collaboration with the Community will be organizing special events across the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The celebrations will be kicked off by a specially organised flag hoisting ceremony at the Pakistan Embassy on August 14 at 8 am where the ambassador will raise the Pakistan flag, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy will conduct the impressive ceremony.

Special performances will be organised to highlight Pakistani Culture followed by Traditional Pakistani Breakfast, followed by a Celebration Dinner “Azadi 2017” at a prestigious Hotel in Bahrain.

A special reception is also be organised on board Pakistan Naval Ship PNS BABUR which is visiting Bahrain on August 18. Pakistan Club Bahrain, and other community organisations are all organizing special activities to highlight Pakistan.

Javed Malik said that the sense of enthusiasm among the overseas Pakistanis in Bahrain reflects their patriotism love towards their country of origin and Pakistan Embassy in Bahrain has built a positive partnership with our community and we work together to promote Pakistan and further expand the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Kingdom of Bahrain.

On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King of Kingdom of Bahrain, conferred Bahrain Medal - First Class upon Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force at Sakhir Air Base, Bahrain. His Royal Highnes conveyed his heartfelt acknowledgement to Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu for the participation of Pakistan Air Force contingent comprising JF-17 Block-III fighter jets alongside air and ground crew in the Bahrain International Airshow. Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
