BAKU, Azerbaijan: Upon the completion of his tenure as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dr Saeed Khan Mohmand met the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku and exchanged views on bilateral relations, as well as current level of and prospects for development of cooperation between the two Countries, Azerbaijan State News Agency Azertac reported.

During the meeting, the importance of promoting positive dynamics in the areas of Pakistan-Azerbaijan traditional cooperation, as well as rich potential in tourism, transit corridors and in other areas were underlined. The two sides also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.

They noted that the high-level visits and the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission play a special role in further development of bilateral relations.Saeed Khan Mohmand Completes His Tenure as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan

The Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov hailed the successful development of Pakistan-Azerbaijan bilateral ties. He described Pakistan’s traditional support for Azerbaijan in the context of international efforts to resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as a vivid example of solidarity between the two friendly Countries.

Ambassador Saeed Khan Mohmand thanked Azerbaijan for the support and sincere attitude towards Pakistan. In this regard, the sides stressed the exceptional importance of the implementation of the UN Security Council’s resolutions for the settlement of conflicts.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister praised the efforts of Ambassador Saeed Khan Mohmand in the development of bilateral relations, and wished him success in his future endeavours.

Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
