DHAKA, Bangladesh: The High Commissioner Imran Ahmed Siddiqui highlighted Pakistan’s desire to strengthen economic and commercial relations with Bangladesh.

In a meeting with the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Rizwan Rahman in Dhaka on Wednesday, the High Commissioner hoped that the forum of the Joint Economic Commission between Pakistan and Bangladesh would be activated soon.Imran Ahmed Siddiqui - The High Commissioner Imran Ahmed Siddiqui highlighted Pakistan’s desire to strengthen economic and commercial relations with Bangladesh. In a meeting with the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Rizwan Rahman in Dhaka on Wednesday, the High Commissioner hoped that the forum of the Joint Economic Commission between Pakistan and Bangladesh would be activated soon.  The High Commissioner also highlighted the need to restart direct flight between Dhaka and Karachi in order to promote trade and commerce in addition to starting direct shipment facility from Karachi to Chattogram Port. He said that Pakistan’s fashion industry could enter into useful partnership with Bangladesh’s Textile Sector.  Imran Ahmed Siddiqui reiterated his Mission’s strong commitment to promoting all aspects of bilateral relations.   While agreeing with the High Commissioner, the DCCI President Rizwan Rahman said that the participation of Pakistani entrepreneurs in the recently ended 1st DCCI Business Conclave-2021 was encouraging. He emphasized boosting regional trade from the platform of SAARC too.  The DCCI Senior Vice President N K A Mobin, FCS, FCA and the Vice President Monowar Hossain were also present during the meeting.
