RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan and Uzbekistan on Monday reaffirmed the resolve to continue supporting efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The resolve was reiterated when the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held a meeting with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

During the meeting, matters related to bilateral security and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, and regional security environment were discussed.

Both sides reaffirmed the resolve to continue supporting efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The Uzbek ambassador appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan armed forces and sacrifices made by Pakistan in war against terrorism, the ISPR said.
