NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi has said that the United Nation should perform more democratically, transparent and effectively.

While addressing a debate at the United Nations in New York, Maleeha Lodhi stressed the need to implement the UN Security Council resolutions regarding Kashmir and Palestine. She said that said that Pakistan has been emphasizing the need to resolve Kashmir and Palestine issue in accordance with the Security Council resolutions.

The envoy said that the 15-member UN Security Council should avoid biasedness in its actions. She said that the Security Council should stop the playing games in favoring and opposing regarding the issues of Kashmir and Palestine.

Maleeha Lodhi said that it is impossible to establish peace without just solution issues. She deployed that big powers are hindering the implementation of UN resolutions.

The Pakistani ambassador said that Martin Luther king said once, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”.

Furthermore, she said that the Security Council should highlight the importance of the dialogue for the peaceful resolution of issues. She said that issues linked with the International peace should be resolved diplomatically.
