VIENNA, Austria: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Austria Aftab Ahmed Khokher has pledged to further strengthen and expand the bilateral relations between the two Countries.

While presenting his credentials to the Federal President of the Republic of Austria Dr. Alexander Van der Bellen at the Hofburg Palace in Austria on Wednesday, the ambassador noted that there is immense potential for cooperation between Pakistan and Austria, particularly in the field of renewable energy, green economy, and higher education.

The ambassador Khokher conveyed to the Austrian president the warm greetings of President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.Ambassador Aftab Ahmed Khokher - Pakistan’s Ambassador to Austria Aftab Ahmed Khokher has pledged to further strengthen and expand the bilateral relations between the two Countries. The Austrian president praised Prime Minister Imran Khan’s commitment to combating climate change and recalled his recent virtual address at the Austrian World Summit. He also appreciated Pakistan’s COVID-19 related policies and measures.   Ambassador Aftab Ahmed Khokher, whose last assignment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad was Additional Secretary (Americas), has previously served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Lebanon.  Aftab Ahmed Khokher has also served at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva and as Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ambassador Khokher will also be Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based international organizations which include the International Atomic Energy Agency, UN Industrial Development Organization, UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the UN Commission on International Trade Law.
