ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Argentina on Friday agreed for collaborating in field of agriculture development by sharing the knowledge and expertise to enhance per acre crop productivity.
The understanding came when the Ambassador of Argentina in Pakistan Ivan Ivanissevich visited Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) in Islamabad and met its Chairman Dr Yusuf Zafar.
Both sides discussed ways and means to share knowledge and experiences from each others for strengthening bilateral collaboration in agriculture sector, said a statement issued by the PARC.
During the discussion, the both sides focused on wheat, maize production, farm machinery, control of post-harvest losses and agreed that Argentina would extend all possible cooperation in these areas.
The Argentinian ambassador invited a delegation of Pakistani scientists, researchers and policy makers to visit Argentine agriculture research institutions to witness innovations, exchange technical knowledge, experience and methods of performing agriculture and marketing.
The envoy also invited PARC scientists and senior management to join a donors seminar to be held in the first week of December for brainstorming and sharing each other experiences.
