Islamabad, Pakistan: India’s dream of becoming a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has been shattered by proactive lobbying of Pakistan, indicate diplomatic sources.

According to Diplomatic sources, India’s dream of becoming a permanent member of the Security Council has been shattered due to Pakistan’s opposition when Pakistan successfully deliberated that no neighboring country is free from India’s covert operation and India has a long desire for placing its hegemony over its neighbor and permanent UNSC membership would a nightmare for Indian neighbors like Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Diplomatic circles claim that permanent UNSC members understand that India has always violated Security Council resolutions. Circles also claim that the Indian group is no longer supported by the United States at the United Nations and Despite claiming to be a secular, successful economy, India does not live up to its standards. India needs the support of 129 members to become a permanent member but India does not even have the support of half the members while Pakistan’s position also has the support of the Arab League and the African Union, diplomatic sources said.
