ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Diplomatic Insight Group organized the 4th Global Ambassadors Award Ceremony to acknowledge the services of ambassadors and diplomats, heads of international organizations, businessmen for the promotion of people-to-people contact, business, trade, and constructive bilateral relations with their respective states.

Apart from ambassadors, Heads of the UN organization and different business groups were also given awards.

These awards are given annually on behalf of the people of Pakistan to acknowledge the services of outstanding foreign ambassadors, diplomats served in Pakistan, and Pakistani businessmen for their contribution in furthering Pakistan’s trade and economic relations on a global scale.

The awards are meant to encourage the momentous and tireless work of awardees for promoting the political, economic, cultural, education, people-to-people contacts, and development works.

The awards recognize nominees for outstanding achievements in furthering the softer image of Pakistan and vice versa.

The winners of this exclusive award have been selected by a committee of distinguished experts from variant backgrounds.

The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib and the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Faisal Javed Khan graced the occasion as chief guests and presented awards to Awardees at the ceremony.

While speaking on the occasion, Farrukh Habib said that Pakistan always works for regional and global peace. Such outstanding work by foreign diplomats for building strong bilateral ties with Pakistan is highly commendable. Senator Faisal Javed said that we would like the world to see Pakistan’s true and real face which is peaceful and progressive.

The Chairperson of Diplomatic Insight Group Farhat Asif made welcome remarks reflecting on the journey of Diplomatic Insight Group spanning over more than a decade. She has highlighted the efforts of the Group in promoting Pakistan’s linkages with the globe through close coordination with foreign diplomatic missions. She has thanked the awardees for their outstanding work.

Farhat Asif also thanked them for accepting these appreciatory awards from the people of Pakistan.

During the Awards, the Diplomatic Insight Group launched Diplo TV. The TV is meant to put a spotlight on the work of Ambassadors, Diplomats, and high officials of international organizations across the globe and Pakistan to promote cooperation amongst countries through public diplomacy initiatives.

The Global Ambassador Awards were awarded to Androulla Kaminara, Ambassador of European Union, Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, Mohamed Karmoune, Ambassador of Kingdom of Morocco, Nicolae GOIA -Ambassador of Romania, Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Manuel Duran, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Mohammed Motahar Alashabi, Republic of Yemen, Dr. P. G. Mahipala, WHO Country Representative in Pakistan, Ambassador Masood Khalid, Former Ambassador of Pakistan, Mian Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Consul General of Moldova, Dr. Gu Wenliang, Agricultural Commissioner, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Kempirbayeva Dilyara Galevna, Third Secretary Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan. In addition to global ambassadors, representatives of business entities were presented with awards including Zhang Baozhong – CEO/ Chairman China Overseas Port Holding Company Pvt. Ltd, Outstanding Foreign Businessman and Philanthropist, Ahmad Ikram Lone, Director Lone Group and Company, and Mr. Yasir Rafique, CEO of Prime Paper Product.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of ambassadors, diplomats, and other important civil society leaders and personalities.
