WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Ali Jehangir Siddiqui has highlighted the importance of extending efficient consular services and promoting bilateral trade between Pakistan and the US.
While presiding over a day-long Conference of Pakistan’s Consuls General and Commercial Counsellors based in the United States at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington DC, the envoy applauded the steps taken by the Embassy and the Consulates General, and asked the concerned officers to further improve areas of consular services based on the feedback received from the Pakistani-American Community.
During the Conference, matters related to consular facilitation, bilateral trade and investment, and outreach to Pakistani-American Community for promoting Pakistan-US relations were discussed.
The visiting Consuls General and Head of Consular Affairs at the Pakistan Embassy DC briefed the ambassador on recent improvements brought in consular services.
Trade and investment related issues between Pakistan and the United States were discussed at length.
Ali Jehangir Siddiqui directed Trade/Commercial representatives to focus on untapped sectors on both sides for enhancing commercial ties between the two Countries.
It was resolved that a frequency of such interactions would form part of efforts geared to better coordination between the Embassy and Consulates General.
