Islamabad, Pakistan: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia where he was warmly welcomed. Pakistan Army Chief of Staff General Asim Munir met with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. Regional peace and security, bilateral defense, and security cooperation including wider issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the historical brotherly and strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that both countries have always stood by each other. On this occasion, the Saudi leadership has assured the Pakistani people that Saudi Arabia will always stand by Pakistan as in the past, will never allow Pakistan to suffer economically and consider any threat to Pakistan as a threat to Saudi Arabia. The Chief of Army Staff also thanked the Saudi leadership for their warm feelings and support for Pakistan.

It is being said that there have been very successful meetings between the Army and the Saudi leadership.

After the first visit of General Asim Munir, Saudi Arabia started efforts to reduce the difficulties of Pakistan through financial assistance in Pakistan’s difficult economic conditions. Along with the increase to USD, the Saudi Development Fund was also directed to consider increasing the amount deposited in the State Bank of Pakistan to USD 5 billion.

It should be noted that through the Special Investment Facilitation Council, agreements have also been reached with Saudi Arabia to invest in various development projects in Pakistan, which will play a very important role in bringing Pakistan out of the economic crisis. Initially, various MoUs have been signed, the fruits of which will be seen soon.

It is worth mentioning that the Army Chief has served in Saudi Arabia for 3 years, so he has very strong relations with Saudi Arabia and the Saudi military leadership. The army chief can be seen with great respect in the Saudi civil and military leadership.

The presence of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense His Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman at Pakistan’s Day Parade on March 23 is a great honor for Pakistan and a very strong indication of our special relationship with Saudi Arabia.
