RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong on Friday held a meeting with the newly appointed Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during the bilateral talks, both sides reaffirmed the commitment; that being `Iron Brothers’ and `All-Weather’ friends, Pakistan and China would continue to forge deeper strategic ties.

Zubair Hayat took charge as the 17th CJCSC on November 28, replacing General Rashad Mehmood who relinquished his Charge as the CJCSC after 41 years of meritorious service in Pakistan army

Earlier on Thursday, the Turkish Ambassador S Babur Girgin called on the CJCSC General Zubair Mahmood Hayat and discussed various facets of brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Turkey.
