Dushanbe, Tajikistan: Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) released and played its anthem first time at Dushanbe Summit concluding ceremony on September 17. Now SCO has its new emblem (logo), flag, and anthem.
The author of the SCO anthem is People’s Artist of the Republic of Tajikistan Amirbek Musozoda, Chairman of the Union of Composers of Tajikistan. The first performer of the SCO anthem was the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Skripka ”, – says the website of the SCO Secretariat.
In particular, the website of the SCO Secretariat says: “It is deeply symbolic that the SCO anthem was written in the year when the Organization celebrates the twentieth anniversary of its creation, and the SCO summit in Dushanbe will open a new milestone in the history of its progressive development.”
The SCO emblem and flag are recognizable all over the world. The SCO anthem will become another important and integral symbol of the Organization, whose principles and activities have won great respect in the international community.
The SCO anthem will be performed at all official events of the Organization, anti-terrorist and other exercises of the SCO member states, opening ceremonies of cultural festivals and sports events held under the auspices of the SCO.
The SCO anthem will also play an important mobilizing role in uniting the “SCO family”, will give additional strength and confidence to the member states of the Organization in achieving the goals of peace, stability and prosperity in the space from the Pacific Ocean to the Baltic Sea and from the Indian to the Arctic Oceans.
The SCO, like any other international organization, has its own official symbols. They were approved in Moscow by the heads of the SCO member states on May 29, 2003. Since then, the SCO emblem and flag have adorned not only all official events held within the Organization or with its participation, but also major international forums held by the UN and SCO partner organizations.
The SCO flag, along with the state flags of the SCO member states, proudly flutters in Beijing in front of the SCO secretariat complex and in Tashkent in front of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS), and the SCO emblem shines brightly at all significant events in the SCO family countries.
Recall that the SCO emblem has the shape of a circle on a pale green background. In the center of the emblem is a conventional image of the Northern Hemisphere of the earth, inside – the outlines of the territory of the SCO member states. To the left and right of the conventional image of the Northern Hemisphere, two olive branches are depicted in bright green, symbolizing peace, well-being and prosperity. The color scheme of the emblem reflects the regional character of the Organization, as well as its main goals – peacekeeping, friendship and cooperation, security and development.
The SCO flag is a white rectangular cloth with the SCO emblem in the center. The very color scheme, in which the emblem and flag of the SCO are made, speaks of the purity of the organization’s intentions. As you know, white symbolizes crystal purity. The SCO is known to the whole world as a new type of Organization, in which all decisions are made on a collective basis, in the interests of all states that make up the association, as well as in the interests of the prosperous future of the vast Eurasian region.
