Abu Dhabi: Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi has cautioned Pakistani to be careful while using social media platforms because the UAE has changed laws since May 30, 2025, and has imposed harsh punishments for spreading hate, misinformation, fake news, disinformation, and for trying to harm the grace of friendly countries.

Talking to DND News Agency, Ambassador Tirmizi stated that the UAE is heaven for those who obey laws, but is otherwise for those who break them. He stated that recently introduced laws to protect society from the harmful consequences of the misuse of media can land any Pakistani into serious trouble, and penalties are as high as a 1.5 million drams fine and even imprisonment.

Ambassador Tirmizi has been proactive in guiding and suggesting to the Pakistani community what to do and what not to do. Ambassador Tirmizi stated that every Pakistani is an ambassador of their country, so we must respect and obey the laws of the hosting land, the UAE, and follow the recently introduced laws.
