ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: An agreement has been signed on opening the Uzbekistan’s Trade House in Pakistan, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
The agreement was signed in Islamabad on Tuesday (May 28, 2019) between the Uzbek State Trade Company “Uztrade” JSC and the Uzbekistan Pakistan Business Council in the presence of the visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan H.E. Elyor Ganiev.
The Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiev was in Pakistan for a two-day visit from May 27-28 along with a high-level delegation comprising the Deputy Ministers for Investment & Foreign Trade and Transport and other senior officials.
During the signing ceremony, Elyor Ganiev congratulated both the parties on reaching the agreement, and emphasized that such Trade House of Uzbekistan is being opened for the first time in Pak-Uzbek bilateral relations’ history.
Moreover, it was stated that the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Uzbekistan significantly increased over last few years, and new Trade House will give impetus to further enhance the mutually beneficial commercial partnership between the two brotherly Countries.
According to the signed document, the first Uzbekistan’s Trade House will be opened in Karachi and subsequent trade houses will be established in Peshawar and Lahore.
