ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s Special Envoy Umer Daudzai will arrive in Pakisan on Tuesday for a four-day visit from January 7-11, 2019.
The diplomatic sources said that Daudzai will hold delegation level talks at the Foreign Office in Islamabad besides meeting with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to discuss the Afghan reconciliation process.
Umer Daudzai will also meet with Pakistan’s top political, religious and military leaders including the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa during his stay in Islamabad and exchange views on Afghanistan’s peace process.
“He (Umer Daudzai) will meet Pakistan’s minister of foreign affairs about the peace process in Afghanistan,” the High Peace Council’s Spokesman Sayed Ehsan Tahiri was quoted as saying by Afghanistan’s TOLO news agency.
“He will also meet Pakistani army chief including Pakistan’s influential political and religious leaders who have a key role in Pakistan’s domestic and foreign policy.”
