CHILAS: Unidentified assailants gunned down two Pakistan Army officers and a senior police officer in an ambush near Gilgit’s Chilas town early Tuesday morning.

Another policeman sustained injuries in the gun attack.

The victims were identified as Pakistan Army Colonel Ghulam Mustafa‚ Captain Ashfaq Aziz and SSP Diamer Hilal Ahmed.

Police said the officials were attacked when they were going to Deputy Commissioner House in Chilas to attend a meeting.

The officers were critically injured in the attack and were taken to the District Headquarter Hospital Chilas where they died during the treatment.

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan‚ Syed Mehdi Shah has condemned the terror attack and ordered investigation into the incident.
