ISLAMABAD: The spokesman of the Ministry of Water and Power said that Diamer-Bhasha Dam will resolve energy crisis on permanent basis and ensure food and water security in the country.

He said Diamer-Bhasha Dam to a capacity of producing 4‚500 megawatts electricity and irrigating thousands of acres agricultural land.

The spokesman said the dam to a capacity to store 6.4 million acre feet water.

Diamer Bhasha dam is being built over Indus River‚ some 40 kilometres west of Chilas in Gilgit Baltistan.
