Monitoring Desk: Maj Gen (Retd) Amir Baram, Director General, Israel Ministry of Defence along with top ranking intelligence team is in New Delhi in the backdrop of Pakistan’s initiative for US-Iran successful ceasefire deal and signing of Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in Switzerland at Lake Lucerne Summit. It is further to mention that Iranian President Pezeshkian is visiting Pakistan on June 23 (Tuesday).

Major General (Retd) Amir Baram has a long military career, having served in various capacities within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). He was appointed as the Director General of the Israel Ministry of Defense in March 2025. According to information available from Kabul, Israeli team visiting to India will meet a delegation of Afghan Taliban that will focus on defense exports, IDF’s technological transfer to Afghanistan through India. His visit to India reflects Israel’s focus on South Asia where Israel now working closely with India as well as Afghan Taliban.
According to Indian media, India and Israel on June 22 held discussions on further strengthening the defence ties between the two countries and Israel’s commitment to expand the ambit of defence cooperation that is under the larger purview of the Special Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
