ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that the deadlock in Pakistan-India relations has eased to some extent following the meeting between National Security Advisors (NSAs) of two countries.

On Sunday, the NSAs and Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India held a meeting in Bangkok and discussed issues pertaining to peace and security, terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir and other issues including tranquility along the Line of Control (LoC).

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad on Monday, Sartaj Aziz said that the Indian External Affairs Minister Shushma Swaraj will arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday to attend the Heart of Asia Conference.

The advisor said that the Indian external affairs minister will also call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Highlighting the importance of Pak-India relations, the adviser said that various matters on resumption of composite dialogue process between the two neighboring countries will be discussed during talks with the Indian minister.

The meeting between NSAs and Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan was held in a candid, cordial and constructive atmosphere, according to Foreign Office.

The Foreign Office told that in the meeting, it was agreed to carry forward the constructive engagement.

The meeting followed a brief meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi on November 30 on the sidelines of the Paris Climate Change Summit.
