QUETTA: Three doctors among five people were kidnapped on Wednesday by unknown men as they were travelling from Balochistan’s Loralai district towards the region of Zhob, Levies force sources said on Thursday.

Those who went missing on Wednesday include Dr Muhammad Anwar, Dr Ayaz, Dr Nasrullah, their clerk Muhammad Farooq and driver Muhammad Anwar, sources in Levies force said.

Levies authorities have been approached in Loralai and Zhob by family members of the missing doctors and a first information report has been lodged.

Levies sources said family members of the kidnapped men submitted a written application that they had lost contact with all five on Wednesday.

“We do not know about the whereabouts of our relatives since yesterday,” a Levies official quoting the missing men’s family members said.

The offical said three doctors along with a clerk of Civil Hospital Loralai and a driver were travelling to Zhob to attend the funeral of a senior surgeon when they went missing.

Levies and police authorities started efforts to ensure the safe recovery of the missing men.
