ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Crime Rate has witnessed an upward trend in the Federal Capital, as per the data of 2022 and 2021 shared with the National Assembly on Wednesday by the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.

The data showed that Murder Cases have witnessed an increase of 10 percent in Islamabad as 160 Murder Cases were recorded in the City in 2022 while in 2021, there were 150 Cases of the same nature.

The Cases of Attempt Murder and Kidnapping in the Federal Capital have also increased by 24 and 86 percent respectively; however, the Incidents of Kidnapping for Ransom and Dacoity have seen a decrease.

The House was apprised that 79 Incidents of Sexual Abuse of Male and Female Children were registered in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and 95 accused were arrested in 2022. Whereas in 2021, the numbers stood 69 and 77 respectively.
