ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman of Parliamentary Affairs Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Mushahid Hussain Syed has said that CPEC will not only connect the people but it will also improve cultural and business relations between the two Countries.

Talking to a News Channel, Mushahid said that Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Gwadar Port, Hospitals and International Airport’s construction under CPEC will largely benefit the people of all provinces.

Mushahid Hussain Syed said that the people living in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan will have opportunities and benefits from the CPEC projects initiated with the help and heavy investment of China.

“CPEC will alleviate poverty and unemployment from the Country,” he said.

To a question, the Chairman said that Pakistan is availing the expertise of engineers, technicians, and other skilled workers from China in various projects initiated under the CPEC programme. Two power projects, producing over 2,000 megawatt electricity, have been completed through the CPEC plan, he added.

Mushahid Hussain Syed said that despite many challenges, China has made huge investment through the CPEC projects which, he added that “Showed China’s full confidence in Pakistan.”

Replying to a question, he said that the people living in less developed parts of Pakistan will have benefits besides job opportunities from the CPEC projects.

The Chairman of Parliamentary Affairs Committee on CPEC said that some 20,000 students of Pakistan are completing education in various disciplines from Chinese institutions.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
