Islamabad, Pakistan: “Having no history of conquering its neighbours, China does not believe in expansionism and it wishes to bring prosperity in the region which can be benefitted to its neighbours also”.

This was stated by leadership of Communist Party of Urumqi while talking to a delegation of senior journalists from Pakistan who are visiting China.

Senior journalist and columnist Aslam Khan who is also member of CPNE delegation while talking to Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency from Urumqi said that leadership of Communist Party of Urumqi said that China would be biggest power of the world by 2050 and the richest country as well but would not leave its population behind because the real assets for any country is actually its people not mere technology.

Communist Party of Urumqi believes that China would introduce exceptional technologies to the world by 2050 and would become poverty free country. “We will carry with our people along with our developments because the strongest power and real assets of any country is its citizens”, commented leadership of Communist Party. It was said that CPEC would bring positive change in entire region and will bring economic prosperity to people.

Talking about bilateral trade between China and Pakistan, leadership was of the view that Pakistan should concentrate to produce items in connection with demand and orientation of Chinese markets. It stated that donkey farming can be one of the initiatives that can bring direct export from Pakistan because there is huge demand of donkey related products from donkey skin and bones are needed by Chinese market.

When asked to comment about human rights of Muslims living in Urumqi, the leadership said that China believes in equality of its citizens and respect and care every person who lives in China. Leadership stated that Urumqi is an autonomous region of China and Muslims are free to live according to their religious and social norms.

It may be mentioned that a delegation of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) is on a visit to China nowadays.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
