COVID-19 deaths in Pakistan surge to 124

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: With every day that passes, more people are getting infected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Pakistan and their number has now surged to 6,505 while 124 of them have succumbed to the disease.

However, luckily 1,645 patients have been cured from the virus as well with a recovery ratio of 25.3 percent.

By now, a total of 78,979 COVID-19 Tests have been conducted throughout the Country. Out of total Confirmed Coronavirus Cases detected so far, 55 percent have been locally transmitted whereas 45 percent have a travel history.

The data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on April 16 has revealed that Punjab with 3,217 Cases is way ahead of other provinces in terms of Coronavirus affectees. Of them, 34 have died but with Allah’s blessings, 550 patients have now been recovered.

The Sindh province stands at second place with 1,668 patients, 560 recoveries, and 41 deaths.

In Balochistan, 280 Coronavirus Cases, 140 recoveries and 3 deaths have so far been recorded. Whereas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 912 patients have been reported, of them, 191 have now been recovered; however, 42 have lost their lives.

The Federal Capital has so far witnessed a total of 145 Cases, 17 recoveries and 1 death.

Furthermore, 237 Cases, 178 recoveries and 3 deaths have been reported in Gilgit Baltistan while Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has recorded 46 COVID-19 Cases and 9 recoveries.
