LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government has announced holidays in all schools across the province on Thursday and Saturday in view of the outbreak of pinkeye (Conjunctivitis).

Since all educational educations across Punjab will also remain closed on Friday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi ul Awwal) followed by a weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Therefore, practically schools will remain shut for next four days.

The Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi said that the directive to close schools applies to all government and private schools till matric across the province.



Mohsin Naqvi said that even on Monday when these educational institutions will reopen, Conjunctivitis-affected students will not be allowed to enter schools.Conjunctivitis Outbreak: Punjab government announces holidays in schools

Meanwhile, the Conjunctivitis continues to afflict Punjab, with state-run hospitals across the province reporting 500-600 patients with Lahore topping the list among other districts.
