ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The delegation comprising the senior management of the Coca-Cola Icecek Pakistan (CCI Pakistan) met the Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar in Islamabad on Monday.

The delegation of CCI Pakistan shared details of the 7th Coca-Cola production plant with an investment of US$ 50 million in Haripur, CSR activities, venturing upon new investment opportunities.

They also discussed some issues relating to the sugar taxes on beverages.

During the meeting, it was informed that the company’s greenfield project would be completed by February 2022, and the company would request Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to inaugurate the project.

They added that the project would be used primarily for beverage needs in the northern region.

Moreover, it will create direct & indirect employment opportunities and revenue for the government as well as third-party suppliers, dealers, and distributors.

The minister welcomed the business expansion plan by the CCI Pakistan and said that the investment is a reflection of the government’s successful pro-investment & pro-business policies.

Further, he assured the government’s full support for the execution of the Company’s investment plans and shared Prime Minister’s vision to make Pakistan an economic hub.

Khusro Bakhtiar said that the beverage and food industry is 12% share of Large-Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI), the growth of this sector would create new jobs and support ancillary industries as the business grows further.
