CM Shebaz Sharif approves new Teacher Training Program

Lahore, Pakistan: Chief Minister Punjab Shebaz Sharif has approved new Teacher Training Program during a high level meeting was held here on Monday.

According to a press statement, under this program, the school heads will be given 28-days training and implementation on new training program will help to develop teachers according to international standards.

Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that teachers training is(was) very much pivotal in improving the quality of education as talented and trained teachers can give better education to the students.

He said that Punjab government has devised a new comprehensive plan for the training of teachers and told that they will be provided educational training at primary, elementary, and higher education levels besides launching school leadership development program.

CM Shehbaz Sharif said that latest technology will also be fully utilized in training of the teachers and the training institutions will be developed as centers of excellence. He informed that training program will be evaluated through third party. He said that Punjab government has promoted merit based policies in education and other sectors and told that 80 thousand talented teachers have been recruited purely on merit. He hoped that international standard training will help to improve the capacity building of the teachers; adding that a plan has been devised to send 5000 teachers abroad to train them as master- trainers. He said that these teachers will be sent to best training institutions of the world for training purposes and they will be selected purely on merit.

He said that teachers training institutions will be equipped with latest equipments and they will also be connected with each other through video link. He said that teachers training program will be furthered as a campaign and told that effective monitoring system will also be devised. Education is a key to success and our future is connected with it. He further said that Punjab government has taken unique steps for the promotion of education in the province.

Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Advisor Dr. Umer Saif, Chairman PEF Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja, Chief Secretary, Secretary Schools Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik and educational experts attended the meeting.
