CHITRAL, Pakistan: The Creative Approach for Development (CAD) with financial support of National Vocational Training Commission organized a competition under Prime Minister Youth Programme in which 50 girls participated in gem stones cutting, polishing and fashion design at CAD office Chitral.

Nadia Tabassum obtained first position in fashion designing, while Fatima Ali stood first amongst 25 female participants in gem stones cutting and polishing competition.

Addressing the occasion Shahzada Mudasirul Mulk said skill development and competition was held for women folk of Chitral for the first time by CAD. The objective of such trainings and competition was to boost and enhance skills of women folk to promote to enable them earn their livelihood with dignity.

Talking to this scribe the first position holder Nadia Tabassum said she got 6 months training of sewing, fashion designing and now participated in this competition. She said she was very happy to take first position.

Fatima Ali said there was a charming scope for gem stones cutting and polishing for women folk and we could run our own business and bear our expenditure by small enterprises.

She said that there were numerous quantities of precious stones at Chitral and the government could eradicate unemployment from this neglected  areas like by giving providing such opportunities to women folk to get training and start their own business.

Shahzda Musaddarul Mulk distributed awards and medals among position holders.
