Islamabad, Pakistan: Tajikistan conference in Pakistan will explore new dimensions of bilateral cooperation in different spheres to enhance their already excellent 25 year old diplomatic relations.

Embassy or Republic of Tajikistan in Islamabad is organizing a conference tomorrow (Monday April 9, 2018). Tajikistan Conference in Pakistan is under title of “Pakistan-Tajikistan: Exploring New Dimensions of bilateral Cooperation”. The Conference is co-hosted by CGSS.

The Conference will highlight historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan, Tajikistan foreign policy with regional countries, 25 years of Pakistan Tajikistan diplomatic relations, future of economic and trade relationship between Tajikistan and Pakistan, CASA-1000 and perspective of cooperation of Tajikistan and Pakistan in the field of energy and prospect of socio-economic relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

The Head of the Department of Analysis and Foreign Police Perspectives (Vision) of the Center for Strategic Researchers under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Hakim Abdullohi Rahnamo, will speak on “Tajikistan’s Foreign Policy and Relations with regional Countries” while Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonov Marufjon, will shed lights on “25 Years of Tajikistan-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations”.

Likewise, the Head of the Department on Social Sciences Problem Studies of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Kurbonov Abdurahmon Sherovich, will speak on “Historical and Cultural Ties between Tajikistan and Pakistan”.

The Deputy Director of the Institute of Economy and Demography of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Mirsaidov Abror, will cover the topic “Future of Economic/Trade Relationship between Tajikistan and Pakistan”.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Jonovov, will deliver his speech on “CASA – 1000 and Perspective of the Cooperation of Tajikistan and Pakistan in the Field and Energy”.

“Bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Tajikistan are at new height since the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Jonovov arrived to Islamabad. He is trying to connect both countries culturally, economically and socially with a clear vision based on people to people contact”, commented Agha Iqrar Haroon, Development Observer and senior analyst working in Central Asian and Eastern European regions.

Talking to Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency, Haroon was of the view that Pakistan could benefit from immense natural resources of Tajikistan which is the only gateway country of Central Asia to CPEC because connecting CPEC to Central Asia through Afghanistan looks impractical due to unending war in Afghanistan.
