Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: Russian President Vladimir Putin will reach Bishkek on March 28 (Tomorrow), reports DND News Agency.

According to state run media, the purpose of the visit, is to deepen Kyrgyz-Russian relations, to ally and strengthen economic relations.

It may be mentioned that Kyrgyzstan and Russia are working in several spheres including infrastructure development, military-technical cooperation, agriculture, transport, and migration issues.

Meanwhile, it is expected that Kyrgyzstan and Russia will finalise a protocol on changing the status of the Russian military base in the republic but both are not sharing details of the protocol with media.

It is pertinent to mention that at present, the United Military Base of Russia operates in Kyrgyzstan, which includes a testing ground on the Issyk-Kul lake, a seismic station in the town of Mailuu-Suu (Osh region), a naval communications center in the village of Chaldybar (Chui Oblast), and an air base in the city of Kant (Chui area).

In preparation for the visit, the 21st meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission was held in early March. Several more major events are planned, including a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian interregional conference with the participation of business circles of the two countries and the international festival “Flowers of Russia”, which will bring together talented children from two countries.
