OSH, Kyrgyzstan: Pakistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kyrgyzstan Faisal Niaz Tirmizi on Monday proposed the establishment of sister city relationship between Lahore and Osh, aimed at paving the way for further strengthening the bilateral relations.

“In Pakistan there is the second largest city with a rich 3000-year history, the cultural and business center of the country – the city of Lahore. I would like to assist in sharing experience, meetings and joint visits of representatives of the business environment of the cities of Osh and Lahore to each other,” Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi remarked in a meeting with Taalaibek Sarybashov, the Mayor of Kyrgyz city of Osh, in which they discussed prospects for cooperation, joint projects and development of relations.

Talking to the Osh Mayor, the ambassador underscored the need for joint efforts to further develop Pak-Kyrgyz trade and economic relations. He also noted that a frequent interaction between business communities of both the countries as well as people-to-people contacts would help meet the desired goals.

“I set the task of establishing economic ties and strengthening relations between representatives of the business environment of the two states,” Faisal Niaz Tirmizi said.

“I am very pleased that I was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kyrgyz Republic. I have visited about 90 different countries but I want to note that Kyrgyzstan has the best food, dishes and water,” he added.

The Osh mayor noted that the city of Osh is ready for cooperation and will consider any proposals for the development of interaction.

Taalaibek Sarybashov expressed an initiative to open joint ventures in Osh and implement common business projects, and also invited to work together to unleash the tourist potential of the city and its historical and cultural sites.
