President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday phoned the leader of the Kazakh people, Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, reports State Ruin News Agency AZERTAC.
President Ilham Aliyev phoned the leader of the Kazakh people, Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev who resigned yesterday from the post of President. Nazarbayev was the first and founding President of independent Kazakhstan who fetched freedom from former Soviet Union.
According to AZERTAC News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev stressed that during the presidential activity Nursultan Nazarbayev made unremitting efforts to ensure development, prosperity and stability of Kazakhstan, noted that his friendly relations with the national leader of our people Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for bilateral relations between our countries. President Ilham Aliyev wished Nursultan Nazarbayev success in his future activities and good health.
Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his attention and kind words.
President Ilham Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed confidence that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will continue to successfully develop in all spheres.
Meanwhile, the joint sitting of the chambers, the Parliament of Kazakhstan on Wednesday adopted a decision to rename the capital of the country Astana as Nursultan.
At the instruction of President Qasym-Jomart Tokayev, it was decided to rename the capital without a referendum. Astana has been officially renamed as Nursultan.
