ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) is being held in Islamabad today with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair discussed energy policy.

The provincial chief ministers and other members of the council will attend the meeting.

A committee comprising chief secretaries of the four provinces will present its report on energy policy before the council of common interests today.

The energy policy envisages end of power outages during the next three to four years and production of cheap electricity by using coal and hydel resources. The strategy forsees bringing down the power tariff to single digit in three years and improving the efficiency of power transmission system.
