Hyundai Elantra 6th generation in Pakistan

Pakistan’s public is often seen frustrated owing to the slow progress of the automobile industry. While the international market is long down the road enjoying newer generations of vehicles, our country falls behind in the list. Apart from Hyundai Elantra, we have observed the same trend for other companies as well.

Toyota Corolla is also progressing slowly as compared to the international market. The same story goes for Honda vehicles as well. While this may all be true, here’s why Pakistan got the Hyundai Elantra 6th generation instead of the 7th.

Logical Facts

Currently, Hyundai Elantra’s 7th generation is being assembled only in three plants worldwide. These include USA, Korea, and China plants. It is noteworthy that all these plants are mega-factory facilities equipped with the latest technology and space to assemble modern-day cars.

Why Pakistan didn't get Hyundai Elantra 7th generation?

Pakistan does not have such facilities as of yet to take up the challenge of producing or assembling the latest generation vehicles.

Lack of Investment and Research

Most importantly, Pakistan’s automobile sector majorly suffers due to the lack of research and development. The transfer of the latest technology is also not something that happens here.

For newcomers, investment is the primary issue. The local market requires huge investments to ensure advancement in the sector.

However, as soon as the local companies reach a point where they can reap success at one end and invest in mega-factories on the other hand, we can expect the progress to speed up a little.
